No trespassing
With all the evolutionary
changes continuing at a faster and faster rate, raising a child today is like
raising a new species of being, unlike
any previously existing. We have no idea
how this species will manifest when mature and if we allow our children to proceed with respect and encouragement, they will grow to their fullest potential. The ideal
parent has no desire to change or improve their child. Acceptance and love are the only requirements

road less travelled
There is a way to treat a child that will ensure
that she grows up to be all she can be.
This way requires that the parents want, more than anything that their child be exactly as she is, just as she was created. This way, is the road less travelled. .
A path that can only be traversed
without the use of power, anger or criticism.
A path based on the utmost love, respect and devotion for our
child’s deepest Self.
And when we succeed, we discover that we are that same divine Self and we live in peace.

child's inborn potential
Every child now being born
has the potential for Self Realization, but only those who are encouraged to remain
in touch with their inborn gifts will be able to do so. It is never a question of
teaching anything to the child, but one of allowing child to know Himself. This knowledge comes from within and only the
child that has access to his inner world can reach this Knowing.

attention deficit disorder
There is no such thing as a
child having an attention deficit disorder since the child is always attending
to something. It is only when we want him to attend to what he is not attending
to that a problem seems to arise. But it
is our problem. It is not the child’s
problem that he is not interested in what his parents and teachers want him to
be. Is it a disorder to not pay
attention to what doesn’t interest you?
In school, the answer to this question is “yes.” Instead of schools taking responsibility for
their irrelevance to their student’s lives, they blame the students by creating
an imaginary illness called ADHD.

ego as nothingness
I was
just thinking about the digital world of 1's and 0's that seem to
be able to become just about everything through the magic of our
computers. I then realized that digital
technology is really about only
one digit, the one. There really is no
zero; it is merely empty space, the absence
of one; nothingness that we give
the name zero to. The idea of
zero is analogous to the the story of ego.
It too seemsto be a
co-creator of reality but does not really exist except as a concept; ego is just another word for nothingness.
Reality is the expression of the One, there is nothing else. We are all one. One is all there is.

bondage
When we accept the ego's notion of who we are, we have accepted the seeds of suffering. When we believe we are a body and are separate from the rest of the universe, we must be in fear; of death, loneliness, failure and loss. This fear, and the fruitless attempts to relieve it (as suggested by ego) is known as bondage. As we begin to notice that the ego's voice in our head is not to be trusted, we withdraw our identification with it and begin to look elsewhere for the truth of our being. This is the beginning of sanity.

no inherent meaning
Since the world has no meaning in itself, it is only our interpretations that gives it meaning. If our interpretations are positive and forgiving, then life will be experienced as joyful and rich. If they are negative, life will be full of conflict and loss. Thankfully, we can always choose again when we realise that it is only our negative thoughts that are showing us a painful reality.

Home
In the ego’s view, happiness will be sometime
in the future when certain conditions are met (when the work is done, there is
enough money, when the war is over, etc.)
The secret the ego cannot know is that the feeling we imagine having in
the future, when the conditions are met, exists already, right now. It's only because we have been looking for our treasure outside ourselves, where it is not, that we cannot find it. The ego’s motto is “seek but do not find" but we no longer have to listen to "the lies of the serpent." We can remember that it is right now, that what we are seeking can be found, never in the future as the ego insists it must be. Let us celebrate the Awareness that we are already Home, that in fact Home is what we Are.

power of choice
It’s a dream
A dream we create by
extension of our minds.
Our mind is an object that we can observe, and
As we watch the “world” our thoughts create,
We are seeing nothing, an illusion.
We can choose between happy and unhappy dreams,
And that is the extent of our choice in this world.

rapid changes
We can see it everywhere. Rapid,
transformative change, on our planet, in our technology, world political
structure, and the economy, to name just a few.
In conjunction with these external changes there are powerful internal
changes that may sometimes seem overwhelming.
Our basic sense of self is changing and with it are many of the beliefs
we've created to make the world seem to make sense. We may feel out of control and desperate to
try and find peace, but the old ways of coping no longer seem to work. What we need is a transformation of
consciousness, an entirely new way of perceiving and thinking about the world
that is not based on differences but on the recognition of oneness.
The opportunity for this inner
transformation is here and now; being supported by both our inner longing and
the momentum of the entire universe.
This is the time of Great Change. Now is when we have been waiting for
all of our lives and where we have always been.

It's all good
Everything that happens (and doesn't happen) is for our own good; to teach the lessons needed to be free; lessons required to accept a new understanding of who we really are. These lessons can at first seems to be a threat, like the light that comes to gently awaken us from a dream seems to be a threat to the dreamer.
The truth is that the light (where we are stuck or being challenged in our life) is our ally, even if our egos don't recognise the gift. The purpose of everything is to wake up the dreamer so that the dream of death, loneliness and loss may finally come to an end.

therapy
In my old life as a gestalt therapist, I continually asked my clients "what are you aware of?" The answer was usually something like "I'm aware of my sore back," or "I'm aware of my sadness," or "I'm aware of thinking about my mother," Often the content of the session would follow from what the client said, so for example we might explore the sore back, the sadness or the relationship with mother. What we did not focus on, was the awareness itself. The client was learning to focus on everything he was not. And that's what we focus on when we tell the story that we call our life, everything that we are not.
It is only when we realise that we are subject and not object, that we are conscious awareness Itself, that we discover that we have no problems. Awareness can have no problems since it's nature is complete emptiness and it is in this that an entire universe seems to arise.

the search
The eye can see everything but itself.
The “I” can see everything but itself.
The subject can never see itself.
The subject (I) can only see what is
other than itself.
Therefore, searching and trying to find what we are, is impossible.
We are what is doing the looking.

glass half full or half empty
For those of us who may need a reminder today: There can be no such thing as a mistake; nothing that should have turned out differently and nothing to be ashamed or afraid of. (except according to ego's story). Everyting that has happened "should' have happended.
The proverbial glass you see is NOT either half full or half empty. The glass is always full, of something, visible or invisible. We are the glass.

no mistakes
We are upset when we look at the world through
a lens that judges that “what is” should be different. This judgement is a
distortion. “What is,” is not a mistake. “God does not play dice with the
universe.” We are perfect just the way we are and are interrelated with
everything and everyone else. For anything to be different than it is would
mean that everything would have to change. There ultimately is no “you” or “me”
or “mine.” There is just one consciousness manifesting as everything. We are
that consciousness.

transformation
A powerful wave, a tsunami of energetic conscioiusness, is bringing new meaning and understanding to our lives. It's happening now and its happening to everyone. It's what we have all been waiting for.

why we can never experience who we really are
It is essential to understand that we humans are wired to be able to
perceive only that which changes. What does
not change, like the movement of our planet through space, is not
perceptible. Consciousness (our true
nature) since it is always present and never changes, can never be an object of
perception. What we are is pure
subjectivity. Any description or
experience claiming to refer to our essential nature must be false, since our
essential nature is ineffable, undefinable and without attributes of any
kind.

Who changes?
Then, I was closed, unconscious, asleep.
Now, I am awake, overflowing,present.
But there is no "I" to be closed or awake.
All is just what is arising.
There is nobody really here.

levels of consciousness
We can use the seating arrangement in a
large theatre as a metaphor for the levels of consciousness. The lowest seats, the ones closest to the drama
on stage, represent the lowest level of consciousness. These seats are so close to the drama, that
they feel virtually connected to it.
They can only see what is directly in front of them. They have no awareness of all the other seats
above and behind them and do not realize that for every seat there is another point
of view.
The seats at the top can be seen to have
a higher consciousness because they can see the existence of all the different points
of view and are most likely to be aware that they are actually in a theatre and that
what they are watching is just a play.
Where are you sitting for the play called
your life?

EMPTINESS
What I am is absolute awareness, the
background upon which all experience and form is perceived. I am not available to the senses or to the
mind. I am the Emptiness from which All
arises. Total Absence is what I am: "Absence of the presence of presence; absence of the presence of absence."

dream wave
I had a dream. A huge
wave was coming towards Nelson. When it
hit, it carried everyone to the top of the raging water, and then the people
seemed to split into two separate groups.
One group swam down from the waves heights and tried to return to their
homes, possessions, etc. They were never
seen again.
The other group surrendered to the overwhelming force of water, and decided not to resist. They went with the current, and discovered that not only was it safe, but it was fun. They all started to surf on the wave in joyous abandon. And for as far as the eye could see, happiness reigned.
Which way are you choosing?
